And it’s 2.20 in the morning, and i’m still pissing about with my new computer. I’ve not got work tomorrow, so that’s fine. Actually I feel a bit ill…..sore throat and all that nonsense. Anyway, today I bought myself a computer so I can write down all the weird thoughts that come into my head every waking (and unwaking) moment. Have I spelt waking right? waking? wakeing? does it have an e? Fuck knows! so what have I been up to? Well, 2 weeks ago I got a free haircut of a trainee hairdesser. The popular opinion round Blackwell’s is that she managed to fuck up what was already a piss poor hairstyle. Doh! But she was cute and she only dropped my leather jacket on the floor 3 times. Oh, by the way i’m not going bald. Think of my hairline as the western front; it goes back and forth, but never really advances anywhere.
On a serious note I watched a very touching programme about the final day of the 1st world war war on tv last night. Presented by Michael Palin, I can only display my utter respect to the soldiers who fought and died (on both sides) during what was truly a ghastly war. My Great great great uncle Tom Dutton fought in the war and died age only 21 years old in 1917. Having outlived him by 10 years I sometimes feel guilty about the easy life i’ve lived. I wear my poppy with not just respect to Uncle Tom, but every soldier who fought during the first world war. Please wear your poppy too, these people should never be forgotten.
